Beware Of Recruitment scams - Dubai's Jumeirah Group warns

Hotelier said some fraudulent recruitment firms were sending unsolicited job offers pretending to be for the group.

Dubai Jumeirah Group, the operator of the Burj al Arab hotel, has warned of fraudulent recruitment firms attempting to use the company's name to extort money from potential jobseekers, a spokesperson told Zawya.

"We are aware that one or more third parties are misusing the Jumeirah brand and the brands of other companies, pretending to be working on behalf of those brands as a recruitment agent," a spokesperson said in an email statement.

"The Jumeirah Group does not send unsolicited emails with offers of employment nor require any payment of fees for the processing of job applications of employment visas," he added.

The luxury hotel group, which is part of Dubai Holding, said all job vacancies are advertised in the careers section of its official website and any emails offering jobs to potential employees would come from email addresses using the 'jumeirah.com' domain.

"Jumeirah does not permit employees to send or receive work related emails from personal accounts or any other address," the company said in a post on its website. It did not give any further details of the scams.

Founded in 1997, the Dubai-based company currently operates a portfolio of 23 Jumeirah-branded properties in 11 destinations.
